- Hardware
- A metal zip runs the length of the top and curves down at each end, so the bag opens right along its back and you can pack it flat rather than posting things through a hole. Two pulls run on it, meeting wherever you leave them, and each one carries a vegan leather tab long enough to grip with cold hands or one hand on the handle. A second zip runs the width of the front pocket with a tab of its own. The two carry handles are held in metal keepers at the base of each strap, four in all, so the vegan leather straps sit square against the canvas and the load pulls into the panel rather than folding the strap over on itself. There's a D-ring on a vegan leather tab at each end of the bag for the shoulder strap, which clips on and adjusts for length, and comes off completely when you want the handles alone
- Construction
- Cut and closed by hand, with the panels turned and stitched rather than bonded, so the seams carry the load and the edges are finished on the inside. The body is built as a barrel, a single wrapped panel closed onto a round end at each side, which is what gives it its depth and lets it hold shape when it's loaded rather than folding in on itself. The handles run onto vegan leather straps carried right around the underside of the bag, so a full load pulls against the wrap rather than against the stitching at the top of the panel. Each handle is set in its own metal keeper, and the D-rings for the shoulder strap sit on vegan leather patches at the ends

- Showerproof. The close-woven cotton canvas holds off a shower, but cotton soaks rather than sheds, so it wets through in prolonged rain and the seams aren't sealed

Made with Italian bio-based vegan leather containing 62–66% plant-origin renewable materials. Produced in Italy using modern water-based, non-solvent processes, combining a viscose backing with a next-generation bio-based polyurethane surface.
Spot clean the canvas with a soft cloth and warm soapy water, working the mark rather than soaking the panel, then let it dry naturally away from radiators and direct sun. Don't machine wash it: the vegan leather trim won't take it and the canvas can shrink against the stitching. Empty it and let it dry through if it gets caught in the rain. Wipe the vegan leather straps and trim with a damp cloth, no solvents or polish. Store it in its cotton dust bag with a little padding inside to hold the shape
