Our Notes

A crew-neck sweater knitted in a heavy waffle rib, thick enough to have real weight in the hand, with a deep texture that does plenty on its own in a single color. It's cut with room through the body and the sleeves, with wide ribbing at the cuffs, hem and neck drawing it in at the edges. A heavy crew neck like this is one of the key pieces in a capsule wardrobe, the knit you wear more than anything else once the weather turns.

It's made from a blend of 60% recycled polyester and 40% recycled cotton, spun from post-consumer clothing and mill waste rather than virgin fiber. It's knitted in small batches in a family-owned factory in Tuscany, and comes in gray or black.

Wear it over a shirt with the collar out and straight jeans and boots, or on its own with dark pants and derbies. Under a bomber or a pea coat it works as a heavy mid-layer through winter. It's a sweater with enough substance to be the whole top half of an outfit, so keep what's underneath simple.

This product is certified carbon-neutral and ethically made in Italy under EU employment, discrimination and health & safety law. It's vegan from the uppers and linings to the glue. It's delivered to you through our carbon-neutral supply chain in plastic-free paper and cardboard packaging.

Care Guide

Caring for your knitwear: Wash less than you think you need to. Airing a knit overnight between wears does more for it than a wash cycle does. When it does need washing, turn it inside out and use a cool wash at 30°C on a gentle or wool cycle with a mild detergent. Skip fabric softener — it coats the fibers and dulls the surface over time. Never tumble dry. Reshape the garment while damp and dry it flat rather than on a hanger, which pulls the shoulders and lengthens the body. Store folded for the same reason. Pilling is normal on any blended knit and comes away easily with a comb or fabric shaver.
