    Less than okay shoes

The shoes themselves are okay, not spectacular or amazing. They work and are of okay quality. The tongue of the shoe is fraying and some of the logos on the shoe have already fallen off due wearing the shoes. I wear them everyday, but I don't hike or run or even walk that much. For $120 I was expecting something better for the money. With the rate of wear and tear the shoes are getting everyday I suspect I will be lucky to have them for another year maximum 2 more year if I am really lucky. I also experienced a month delay in shipping. I had to reach out to them to get them to actually ship them. Would not recommend, very unfortunate since I am looking for a vegan shoe brand I can get behind.

    Hi Joseph,

Thanks very much for the review and taking the time to give this feedback, it is much appreciated.

I am sorry for the problems with your shoes. Sadly the Vibram logos falling off the outsoles of the Oakes Cross Trainers is something I have seen happening a few times. They are provided by Vibram to us to use on the trainers. We have fed back that the logos fall off the sides sometimes, we hope it is something that will be resolved for future production batches.

I am sorry for the fraying on the tongue. I wanted to let you know that for your peace of mind - at any point you are welcome to a replacement or refund, or we can pay for the costs of repair of any purchase you make with us - if you are not happy at any point. We want all our customers to be happy with their purchases from us and will always put things right if that are any issues. You should expect these trainers to last you many years. We have been selling them for 2017, and speaking from personal experience my pair has lasted about 5 years so far and I have really put them through the works.

I am sorry for the delay in shipping your order to you. Our warehouse system mistakenly blocked the shipment due to a computer based fraud check. This meant that your order was held for further checks to be made. We have since your order was placed introduced a better system which has meant that any orders flagged by the system to be checked are conducted faster with better communication to the customer. Sorry to let you down like this, usually all orders ship in 1-2 days after they have been placed.

I hope I have been of some help, do let me know if I can be of any assistance, just reply back to the email I just sent to you or reach out to our customer help team.

    Great quality

Great quality but sadly had to be returned as too narrow.

    Cross Running Trainers

Well constructed comfortable trainer. Grip is lacking though - on hard surfaces when wet the trainers have very little grip.

Comfortable for running. Weird laces holder breaks easily, leaves excessive loose lace.

I have owned two pair of these shoes, using each for about one year. The shoes are quite comfortable for running anywhere. An earlier version lacked sufficient padding which required extra insoles, but that has been remedied as of late 2021. I have two complaints, both relating to the laces tightening system, which uses a slider to hold the laces down. First, it leaves a lot of extra lace, with nowhere to put it. I tuck them into my socks, which is usually OK but looks weird and is sometimes uncomfortable. Second, and exacerbating the first issue, the contraption easily breaks, making the shoes almost useless, because the laces aren't designed to be tied in the traditional fashion and don't hold well in that position. That happened on both of my pairs. I bought another slider but it doesn't hold the laces down as well. The shoes seem to wear out within about 300 miles of running, by which time the rubber completely wore off in the heel, which became deformed. I don't think that's unusual for a running shoe.
