Our Notes

The Classic 3.5cm Belt is a minimal, clean-lined belt built around a squared brushed silver frame with a straight prong. Nothing on it but the shape, which is what lets it sit quietly at the waist and work with whatever's above it. There's a solid weight to it in the hand. At 3.5cm the strap has the width for denim and chinos and enough restraint to go under a suit, and the end is tapered to a soft point so it lies flat through the keeper. It's one of the first belts we made, launched in 2014, and it's been in the collection ever since. In Black, Tan, Light Tan, Chestnut and Dark Brown, with a Dark Brown Vegan Suede.

The strap is made from two pieces of our signature bio-based vegan leather, glued and then stitched together to form a strap that's thick, durable and flexible. The edges are skived down before they're closed, so the strap tapers at the sides rather than sitting square, and the strap and keeper are double-stitched along their length. The Dark Brown Vegan Suede is built the same way, with Italian vegan nubuck (100% polyurethane) facing out over the bio-based vegan leather at the back, soft under the hand with a fine even nap.

Our belts and accessories are made in the same materials as our footwear, so they color match across the range. Order the same color name and finish and the shade will be the same across the pair, in the smooth bio-based vegan leather or the vegan nubuck.

Our Italian Bio-Based Vegan Leather

Made with Italian bio-based vegan leather containing 62–66% plant-origin renewable materials. Produced in Italy using modern water-based, non-solvent processes, combining a viscose backing with a next-generation bio-based polyurethane surface.

Care Guide

Vegan leather: Wipe with a soft damp cloth and let it dry naturally, away from radiators and direct sun. No solvents, no polish, no heat. If it gets caught in the rain, pat it dry rather than leaving it wet. Vegan suede: Brush along the length with a suede brush to lift the nap, and lift marks with a suede eraser. No water, no solvents, no polish. If it gets caught in the rain it will darken, so let it dry naturally away from heat and brush it back up once fully dry. Store either rolled in its cotton dust bag rather than folded or hung, so the belt doesn't take a crease.

How to take your waist measurement

Measure around the waistband of your pants, where you will position the belt, rather than on top of any clothing.

Order the size where you fall in the middle of the smaller and larger measurement. For example, if you measure 33in (83cm), order a medium.

Size up if you are unsure between two sizes.
